Gem-A Gemmology Foundation Course. The first year of Gem-A’s Gemmology course, on successful completion of this course students then may apply for Gem-A Diploma year. Tuesday evenings, from 5:30 to 8:00pm within the Gemmology Department starting Tuesday October 7th, 2025.Location Birmingham City University, Assay Office, I Moreton Street, Birmingham, B1 3AX.The total cost for the course will be £2850.00. £1375 covers the BCU classes, with the remaining £1475 for Gem-A to cover the cost of your notes, equipment, sample stones, exam fees and late enrolment/postage fee. The BCU cost covers your tuition, and access to the vast range of stones that we use in class.Please note that once all payments and enrolments are processed Birmingham City University then pay Gem-A one lump sum for their half of the fees.
